Vassilis Tsitsanis was a pioneering Greek composer, singer, and bouzouki player, widely regarded as one of the greatest figures in Rembetiko and Greek folk (laïko) music. His work, blending traditional Rembetiko with popular Greek and Western elements, brought the genre to a broader audience and shaped post-war Greek music to a great extend.
