PADRE GUILHERME, from Guimarães, Portugal, was born in 1974 and has been a priest since 1999. He is a parish priest in the Archdiocese of Braga and a military chaplain with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Diocese of the Armed and Security Forces.

Electronic music has been running in his blood since he was very young, and he has always been connected to music since his seminary days.

At the time of the pandemic, he took advantage of the live-streams with weekly DJ sets, to experiment new sounds and techniques, having started at that time a musical journey through the universe of techno. These livestreams even led him to be featured in Reuters, Forbes, and Clubbing TV, just to name a few.

Currently he presents techno with strong influences from traditional to sacred music, with several typical melodic-techno elements always present.

In the booth, he presents a journey in which he uniquely combines faith, peace and love, with the joy, daring and irreverence that are very characteristic of him.

MASTIKSOUL began his career in ‘92, at a time where his life was split between Portugal and France and from where he watched the rise of a new musical culture, which in association with his strong African roots formed his talent into a unique style. Being connected to techno music for a while he released his first twelve-inch and developed his DJ and Producer skills but in the late 90 ́s came the desire to embrace other styles. At this moment House music became his main inspiration. His vision and his style, both clearly reflect his origins, very percussive and tribal. By early 2000, with his musical productions, he was truly being noticed and acclaimed by some of the biggest House names on the scene such as Tony Thomas, Tom Stephan, Grant Dell, Terry Francis, Nathan Coles, Layo, Circulation, Justin Drake from Peace Division and also by the UK’s main dance press such as Mixmag, Jockey Slut and DJ Magazine. Entering the beginning of this century he built a production studio in London and materialized two important projects: ‘4Kenzo Recordings’ and ‘Digital Distribution’ with DJ Token Pace. In 2003, MastikSoul started strong with 4Kenzo Recordings and with a release on Difference Records titled ‘South Tribal EP’ and on his own label "I Believe" international recognition soon arrived. ‘South Tribal EP’ was licensed to a TV show in UK and received support from many acclaimed DJs. Work increased and MastikSoul started the new label ‘Moxi Records’ with his fellow tribal guru Tony Thomas. With support from DJs such as Carl Cox and Tennaglia to name a few, Moxi records became a world reference. In 2006 MastikSoul reached another level in his career as a producer with collaborations in the studio with DJ Sneak and Renato Cohen. Placing him as one of the top House producers. During this period MastikSoul saw his much acclaimed label 4kenzo Recordings lifted to the status of one of the top labels in the world with a roster that included: DJ Sneak, Renato Cohen, Brett Johnson, Johnny Fiasco, 1200 Warriors, Angel Alanis, Tony Thomas and Joey Youngman just to name a few. With records being released on labels such as ‘RobSoul Recordings’, ‘Magnetic Recordings’ and ‘Guesthouse Recordings’, MastikSoul still added time to mix is own compilation alongside Brazilian star DJ Gabo while on tour in South America. Year of 2007 and MastikSoul was a very busy artist, the world tour began with clubs such as: Club Volar (Hong Kong), Pacha (Buenos Aires), SmartBar (Chicago - Awarded USA best Club), Footwork (Toronto), The Guvernment (Toronto), Focus (Los Angeles), Club Q (Zurich), Manga Rosa (Brazil), Comics (Bulgaria), H2O (Belgium), Mood club (Belgium), Kadoc (Portugal) and Swing (Portugal) to name only a few. MastikSoul had a massive collaboration with Saeed Younan and hit number 1 on Beatport for 4 weeks including many licensing’s for the world’s best mix CD’s. 2008 and the world goes Mastik! 80% of his releases topped the Beatport charts with ease. He even managed the feat of maintaining a position in the top 10 nonstop for the final 3 months of the year with his consecutive releases. Helping to achieve these feats among others were his huge anthems ‘Land of Spirits’, ‘Run for Cover’ and ‘Jacobino’. Beatport announced their biggest House Tracks of the year and MastikSoul was right up there in the top 5 ahead of many renowned artists. MastikSoul had affirmed himself as the King of House. His presence was felt throughout the world with numerous collaborations, award nominations and appearances in the dance music press. In 2009 the dominance continued, releasing his ‘Bofe de Elite EP’ which reached number 1 on Beatport’s Tech House Chart and sat firmly within the Top 10: Total Downloads Chart. He also produces remixes of ’Rap Das Armas’ for the famous Brazilian producers Cidinho & Doca which was included on the original soundtrack ‘Tropa De Elite’. The huge ‘Buff Buff Remix’ of Nick & Danny Chatelain’s ‘Katrinyla’ is voted record of the month on Beatport. Following on from his unprecedented success in 2008 with his track ‘Jacobino’ the award nominations started rolling in, including ‘Best House Artist 2008’ at the prestigious 2009 Beatport Music Awards. The touring continues with huge headline slots at ‘Sensation’ (Lisbon, Portugal) and ‘Sun Coast Festival’ (Seville, Spain) among others. The press interest is still going strong and MastikSoul is featured on the cover of leading Portuguese dance magazine ‘Dance Club’. 2010 Still going strong. With numerous high profile gigs including Sensation White – Chile and many more releases under his belt such as “Mboia Feat Nicol Ananaz”,‘The Whistle’, ‘Taking Me High’, ‘Capotagem’, ‘Baila Bonito’, ‘Run For Cover’ (2010 Mix) and a huge remix that have become the summer anthem “Dama S Salon – Mastiksoul remix” 2010 sees the release of MastikSoul’s second album, with collaborations including Akon, Buraka Som Sistema, Gregor Salto, Dada (Deepest Blue) and Angelico Vieira. Reaching number 1 on the Portuguese iTunes store, Mastiksoul gets proclaimed by the media as the best Portuguese Artist. 2011 Mastiksoul starts the year with another classic anthem that took the clubs by storm “Yakuba” and his MastiksoulTV channel on Youtube. Collaborations also started early in the year with artists such as: Dj Chuckie, Sidney Samson, David Jones, Stefano Noferini. Summer of 2011 Mastiksoul tours extensively been the first Portuguese Dj to ever tour in two different country’s in the same day: “Dance Valley – Holland” and “RS Beach Club – Lisbon” creating a massive buzz on the Portuguese Dance Scene. Following the huge year of 2011 Mastiksoul closes the year with a trip to Brazil to film a music video with Brazilian Movie Star “Zé Pequeno” from the classic movie “Cidade de Deus” and joins forces with two major football stars “Nani” and “Miguel Veloso”, “Dada – Deepest Blue” and Dj Chuckie for an epic song and video “Forever” that become a landmark and consolidates Mastiksoul once more as the main act in Portugal. 2012 Mastiksoul just took it to another level, starting is Radio show on “CidadeFM” early 2012 that included a massive Tour in Portugal to Mastiksoul 3rd Album “Forever”. Collaborations included the diva “Rita Guerra”, “Lance Kotara”, “David Jones”, “David Anthony” and “Dada – Deepest Blue”. To become the biggest selling Dance Music Album in Portugal. Mastiksoul live show´s in 2012 are simply “sold out” show´s nationwide and performs for the first time at the biggest dance music festival in the world: “Tomorrowland”. But this was only the tip of the Iceberg, Mastiksoul also perform on some of the world biggest events: “Aruba Film Festival Week - Aruba”, “Latin Village – Amsterdam”, “Dance Valley – Amsterdam”, “Street Parade – Zurich”,”Spirit Of London – São Paulo”, “Ministry Of Sound – London”, ”Mysteryland – Chile”, “Expofacic – Cantanhede”, “MEO SPOT – Portimão” and many more. End of 2012 and Mastiksoul releases is biggest single to date: “Hurricane Feat David Anthony & Taylor Jones” closing one of the busiest years of Mastiksoul epic career. 2013 Mastiksoul is no stranger to the average person with nationwide acclaim as the Dj with most sold out shows in Portugal. With the stakes high and with an incredible year of 2012 Mastiksoul starts the year with another massive single “Hands Up feat Dmol”. Taking place at several charts and support from acclaimed Dj´s worldwide. Early 2013 Mastiksoul starts the amazing tour “Hands Up”, Mastiksoul travels across Portugal with Dmol having sold out shows nationwide once more. Mastiksoul & Dmol during their massive tour, still found time to produce and release another single “Turn Up”, another single that travel across clubs worldwide. Summer 2013 kicks in and Mastiksoul Collaborates with the massive super star Anselmo Ralph and participate on Anselmo Ralph biggest live show ever, Mastiksoul & Anselmo Ralph performed in front of 18 000 people for a sold out “MEO ARENA”. Mastiksoul returns to biggest Festival in the world “Tomorrowland” and as the biggest show of “Expofacic” in history as a Dj, performing for a whooping 40 000 people. Summer of 2013 is still in full force and Mastiksoul preforms for sold out shows such as: “Azurara Beach Party – Porto”, “Festival da Povoação – Açores”, “Electric Festival – Aruba”, “Summer Jam – Tenerife” and many more. Mastiksoul mixes “MEO SPOT” compilation; one the best summer clubs in Portugal, in no time becomes TOP 2 on the National Charts. After a busy summer in 2013 Mastiksoul remixes one of biggest dance songs ever “I like to Move it”. Making one of the most played tracks in winter of 2013, reaching “Number 1” in Spain, “Number 1” at the digital store “DJTunes” and top 10 in many countries. With massive support from acts such as: Dj Chuckie, Gregor Salto, Glowinthedark and many more. After an amazing Colombia tour Mastiksoul returns to release his 4th Album “Legend”. Releasing his new single and music video “I am Changing feat Amanda Wilson and Ebbyman” the Album “Legend” also combined artists such as: “Anselmo Ralph”, “Rita Guerra”, “Dmol” and raising star “Krishane” Right before the end of 2013 Mastiksoul still manages to have “Number 1” and “Number 2” on Itunes dance chart Portugal, Tour in Brazil and epic New Years Eve that went from “Pacha - Ofir” to “Mussulo Beach Party – Angola”. 2014 Mastiksoul continues is legacy and collaborates with “Rui Unas & Luciana Abreu” two of the most recognized public figures in Portugal, a single that aims to support Portugal National team on the Brazil world Cup 2014 and set a personal record of views on Youtube by 850 000 views in 2 weeks. Creating one of the biggest media frenzy nationwide. 2014 is only the beginning of another massive year for Mastiksoul.
